Kanazawa

Kanazawa doesn’t get talked about as much as Kyoto. And honestly, that’s part of the appeal. You get the same lattice-windowed teahouse streets, the same centuries of samurai and geisha history, the same obsessive craftsmanship, but with a fraction of the crowds. Add in one of the most celebrated gardens in the country and a food scene built on the best seafood in the Sea of Japan, and it’s easy to see why Kanazawa keeps showing up on more travelers’ lists.
